The Year 10 Curriculum is designed to round off students’ junior education and prepare them for Senior Studies. All students do work experience and develop a Senior Education and Training Plan which sets directions and goals for Senior Studies. Many students also commence VET, with some starting school-based apprenticeships.
Year 10 Semesters One & Two
All students study:
- Religious Education
- Career Education
- English - Students work at level of success in English or Accelerated English Classes. Courses are based on the Australian Curriculum
- Maths - Students work at level of success in Maths or Extension Maths Classes. Courses are based on the Australian Curriculum
- Science - Students select preparatory subjects that introduce them to Chemistry & Physics, Biology and Science in Practice
- SOSE - Students select preparatory subjects that introduce them to Ancient and Modern History, Geography and Business
Students select 4 semester units from:
- HPE - units based on physical activities students enjoy such as Rugby League, Soccer, Netball, Fitness Training, Life Sports, Dance and Indoor Sports
- Japanese - Two semester units which develop communication skills and cultural understanding
- Technology - Five semester Units available from areas of Food & Textile Design, Industrial Design and Information Technology
- The Arts - Six semester units available from strands of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts
