Recently Year 11 students Keira James, Chloe Rawlins and Sammy Warburton represented Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) at the STEM MAD National Showcase in Melbourne, with over 60 schools from 12 dioceses across Australia. They presented their invention, a Hydro-Electric Lifeline Power Source (H.E.L.P.S.) which acts as a self-reliant energy generator.
Congratulations to Keira, Chloe and Sammy for achieving the following outstanding results with their H.E.L.P.S. device: • Winner – Best Engineered Product (Secondary).
• Finalist – STEM MAD Secondary – Overall Award (Within 0.1 points of the winner).
• Finalist – Best Demonstration of Science in Context (Secondary).
