On Wednesday 26 July 2023 the academic achievements of St Peter Claver College students during Semester 1 2023 were celebrated with a special Assembly in front of families, peers and staff.

More than 150 students in Years 7-12 received awards for achieving a consistently high level of academic achievement in their syllabus subjects in Terms 1 and 2 of 2023.

Assistant Principal Curriculum Shane Tooley said all award winners had demonstrated a commitment to their learning at the highest level.

“For students in the Middle Years this increases subject options in the Senior Years, and for Senior students it opens doors for university courses, tertiary education and work opportunities when you graduate."

Principal Bruce McPhee spoke about students not resting on their laurels and striving to do their best.

“It's not simply being naturally smart that gets you an award, but hard work and dedication to your studies and assessment tasks," he said.

“It is up to you [the students] to choose and shape your own goals and futures, and we [your teachers] will support you in that journey."

Academic Performance Awards celebrating growth between Semester 2 2022 and Semester 1 2023 results will be presented at the College Assembly in Week 5. Students will also receive Academic Effort Awards in their Year Level Assemblies in Week 4.
