Cupcakes, biscuits, muffins, brownies, fudge, slice, popcorn, savoury scrolls, lolly bags and more took centre stage as our four Houses competed in the annual College Interhouse Bake Sale.

On Wednesday 6 May 2026, students from all year levels and Houses turned out in droves to support the annual charity fundraiser, with Xavier House declared the overall winner. All funds raised from the College Interhouse Bake Sale are donated to Micah Projects, supporting programs that assist women and families experiencing, or at risk of, domestic and family violence. An incredible $3530 was raised for this worthy cause.

Assistant Principal – Identity and Formation, Angela Ryan said, “The College Interhouse Bake Sale is widely supported by students, their families and our staff. The bake sale has been held in the month of May since 2021 to align with Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in Queensland. The issue of family and domestic violence was identified by students in the 2021 cohort as an issue that they wanted to take meaningful action on. This has been wholeheartedly supported by subsequent student leadership teams, staff and families. Sadly, this is still a very big issue in the Australian community. Awareness raising, support and action are ways we can contribute to creating a safer community. We look forward to presenting this donation to Micah Projects and continuing our support of their important work.”

Xavier House Captains Elli Miller and Jaxson Miller thanked everyone for their donations and support of the College Interhouse Bake Sale.

“We acknowledge that the overall winner of the competition is Micah Projects. Your donations are a huge contribution towards raising money and awareness of domestic and family violence. The funds go towards offering compassion, safety and a chance to rebuild,” Elli said.

Campus Minister Alice Dwyer said the annual College Interhouse Bake Sale is a much-anticipated event on the College calendar for both students and staff.

“The generosity of our staff and families through baking, donating and purchasing on the day for this worthy and important cause is so gratefully appreciated. It is a pleasure to be a support for the Student Leaders as they organise this event and lead their Houses with such energy and pride. The event is a wonderful representation of our family spirit and one I look forward to each year,” she said.

The College Interhouse Bake Sale results:

  • First: Xavier with $965.
