Cupcakes, biscuits, slices, cake pops, fudges and other sweet treats were just some of the delicious baked goods and treats on sale as part of this year's annual Inter-House Bake Sale.
On Wednesday 7 May 2025 students from all year levels and Houses turned out in droves to support the annual charity fundraiser, with Fisher House declared the overall winner. All funds raised from the Bake Sale are donated to Micah Projects, specifically their programs that support women and families experiencing or at risk of domestic and family violence. An incredible $3031 was raised for this worthy charity.
Assistant Principal – Identity and Formation, Angela Ryan said, “The Bake Sale is now a long-held tradition at Claver that is widely supported by students, their families and our staff. The Bake Sale has been held in the month of May since 2021 to align with Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in Queensland. The issue of family and domestic violence was identified by students in the 2021 cohort as an issue that they wanted to take meaningful action about. This has been wholeheartedly supported by subsequent student leadership teams, staff and families," she said.
Campus Minister Alice Dwyer said the annual Bake Sale is a much-anticipated event on the College calendar for both students and staff.
“We want to extend a massive thank you to the Claver community for their generosity and getting behind this worthy and important cause by baking, donating and purchasing on the day. Also, thank you to the Student Leaders and staff who were involved. It's always humbling to see our College rise to the occasion," she said.
