2012 Confraternity Netball & Rugby League

Confro Rugby League

140_CONFRO_RUGBY_3.jpgBIG congratulations to our 1st XIII Rugby League boys who made history by being the first team to make the Confraternity Shield Grand Final, riding a wave of momentum which led to many confident displays of rugby league in the wet (atrocious!!!) conditions.  It was a tremendous achievement from the boys to finish 2nd overall out of 40 teams and they must be congratulated on this.

Two of these boys (Tre Sheppard and Walter Pani) were rewarded for their efforts throughout the week by making the Queensland Confraternity Merit team.  Congratulations boys!

QISSN Netball

140_NETBALL_CONFRO_3.jpgFrom Sunday 24th June – Friday 29th June, 10 of St Peter Claver College’s finest Netball players travelled to Caloundra to participate in the 2012 QISSN Netball Carnival, hosted by Chisholm Catholic College. It was a tough week filled with blood, sweat and tears.  St Peter Claver drew a tough pool draw with some very physical matches. At the end of the tournament, Claver finished Fifth overall – 5th of 48 teams is a pretty amazing result! This is best result for Claver in 9 years.

Congratulations to Keely Grienke for being named the team’s Most Valuable Player as voted by coaches of opposition teams. It was a truly well-deserved decision. Keely also made the QISSSN All Stars team. This is an awesome achievement for Keely and a great result for our College.
